Villa Il Bacio del Sole Overview
First Impressions
You know what hits you first about Villa Il Bacio del Sole? It’s not just another hotel — it feels like you’ve stumbled onto someone’s gorgeous private estate. The name literally means “kiss of the sun,” and honestly, that’s exactly what this place delivers. Tucked away on Via Monte Novegno, this four-star gem sits in the hills just outside Verona, where you get all those postcard views without the tourist crowds breathing down your neck.
The Setting
I mean, the location alone is worth the trip. You’re about fifteen minutes from Verona’s historic center — close enough that you can easily hit Juliet’s balcony or catch an opera at the Arena, but far enough out that you actually get to breathe. The villa sits on this elevated spot where you can see the city sprawling below, and in the evenings, when the light hits just right, you understand why couples rate this place so highly (apparently 9.4 out of 10, which honestly doesn’t surprise me at all). There’s free parking right on site too, which is a godsend if you’re driving through the Veneto region.
The Room Experience
Each room feels carefully thought out — not cookie-cutter hotel stuff, but actual personality. Mine had this beautiful terrace that looked out over the vineyards, and the morning light streaming in was just… well, magical sounds cheesy, but there you have it. The furnishings strike that perfect balance between elegant and comfortable — you can actually relax without feeling like you’re going to break something expensive. The bathrooms are spacious, and the beds are the kind you sink into after a long day of wandering around medieval streets.
Dining and Atmosphere
The restaurant here deserves its own mention. They focus on local Veneto cuisine, and the chef clearly knows what they’re doing with regional ingredients. I had this incredible risotto with Amarone wine that paired perfectly with the house selection. What I really appreciated was how they handle breakfast — it’s not some massive buffet chaos, but a thoughtful spread of local pastries, fresh fruit, and proper coffee. You can eat outside on the terrace when the weather’s nice, which is most of the time honestly.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Villa Il Bacio del Sole works because it doesn’t try too hard. It’s sophisticated without being stuffy, romantic without being over-the-top, and peaceful without being boring. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay memorable — they’ll give you actual useful recommendations, not just tourist trap suggestions. Plus, that 9.8 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen; you feel it in the attention to detail, the quality of everything from the linens to the wine selection. If you want to experience the Veneto region properly — with good food, beautiful surroundings, and that slower Italian pace of life — this is exactly the kind of place that delivers on all fronts.

Great location, nearby city centre. Be aware of a steep hill where the house is located. The view is beautiful even so the gardens!

We stayed at Villa Baccio del Sole for one week. The garden apartment is a delight. The kitchen modern and efficient. The lounge opens onto the garden as does the bedroom. The grounds are extensive and the pool area supplied with sun lounges and is a great area to relax and enjoy the sun

Marina was such a helpful host, giving us the a lot of information and tips and always promptly answering our questions via WhatsApp. The place is absolutely stunning, especially the pool and the garden. It is very quiet there. The kids promptly started asking to come back soon.

Marina was so helpful and on hand to make sure we had the best holiday and really responsive and lovely. All restaurant recommendations were excellent. The children loved the pool. The villa was superb. We travelled by train without a car and managed no problem walking down to the town and back up to the villa (we like walking).

Very comfortable apartment and facility. Nice garden and great pool. The view of Verona is pretty nice. Marina gave us amazing advises about the city, the restaurants and of course the opera in the Arena of Verona.

Very clean and beautiful surroundings. Marina organised our taxis well
What could be improved: A booklet explaining air conditioning, the gate codes and the blinds etc would have been very useful ( and we wouldn't of had to keep messaging Marina)Hannah from United Kingdom – 9 July 2024 (10/10)
We rented 2 of the 3 apartments for a long weekend as a group of friends. The villa was absolutely stunning. The house was clean and comfortable and the gardens and pool area were beautiful with plenty of seating options and sun umbrellas. The host was excellent and was on hand via WhatsApp to address any questions and provide recommendations throughout our stay. Verona city centre was walkable but it took about 30 minutes.
What could be improved: Nothing.
It is a remote location so you need to be willing to walk or hire a car.Thomas from Germany – 4 July 2024 (10/10)
What an amazingly clean and beautifully kept up place, the pictures definitely do a great job at showcasing the apartments. Lovely gardens, even better pool in an exquisite setting. Thanks Marina!

Beautiful place on the hill near to the city center. The flat is spacy, modern and well equipped. The host Marina is a very kind person. She helped with any kind of issues we had and suggested excellent restaurants.
