I’ll be honest – Villa Mimosa isn’t the kind of place that’ll blow you away with marble lobbies or infinity pools, but there’s something really genuine about this little 3-star spot that keeps drawing me back. The first time I stumbled across it, I was actually looking for somewhere else entirely (classic me), but I’m so glad I ended up here instead.

What strikes you immediately is how the staff actually remembers your name by day two – and I mean genuinely remembers, not that scripted hotel training stuff. The owner clearly takes pride in the details that bigger chains miss. You know what I love? The way they’ve arranged the common areas so you can actually have a conversation without shouting over piped-in music. The breakfast setup is refreshingly straightforward too – proper coffee (thank goodness), fresh pastries that taste like someone’s grandmother made them, and none of that weird buffet food that’s been sitting under heat lamps for hours.

The rooms are comfortable in that lived-in way – think clean and well-maintained rather than sterile luxury. The beds are surprisingly good actually, and the bathrooms have decent water pressure, which honestly matters more to me than fancy toiletries. I mean, the décor isn’t going to win any design awards, but it’s not trying to be something it’s not either. What I really appreciate is how quiet it gets at night. Even during busier periods, you’re not dealing with slamming doors or people talking in the hallways until all hours. The 7.8 rating makes total sense – it’s the kind of place where everything just works without any drama. Check-in is always smooth, housekeeping is thorough without being intrusive, and if you need something, someone’s actually around to help rather than directing you to an app or automated system. It’s become my go-to recommendation for friends who want a solid, no-nonsense stay without paying resort prices for amenities they’ll never use.

  La habitación era perfecta. Grande, con baño amplio y una nevera pequeña. Tenía aire acondicionado.
  Nada más hacer el check in, Elena nos dio dos botellas de agua fría de medio litro (lo cuál se agradece en agosto a 32 grados). Nos acompañó a la habitación, que en realidad era una casita individual, una especie de adosado anexo al edificio principal.
  Todo estaba muy limpio y la cama era muy cómoda y grande, disponiendo de 2 almohadas cada uno (mi marido y yo).
  
  What could be improved: En el exterior, pegado a la puerta de entrada de nuestra habitación, había otra entrada a otra habitación. En este caso había una mesa y una silla fuera donde se encontraba sentado un individuo con muy mal aspecto (ropa sucia y rota), fumado, totalmente ido, hablando solo y escupiendo repetidamente al suelo, con ropa tirada en el suelo a su lado. No hubo ningún incidente, pero la sensación de inseguridad y miedo te amarga la estancia. En este caso ese hombre estuvo ahí sentado desde que llegamos (las seis de la tarde), hasta que volvimos esa noche (a las doce y media de la noche), y seguía ahí a las 8 de la mañana cuando salimos a desayunar, y a las 10 cuando dejamos el alojamiento.
  Igualmente esto es una anécdota, ya que el alojamiento estaba perfecto.

  Raňajky boli typicky sladké, ale nezabudli ani na slanú variantu, šunka a syr, čo bolo milé. Skvelé bolo taktiež parkovanie zdarma a zastávka autobusu priamo do Verony asi 50m od ubytovania

  Verkehrsgünstige Lage, nicht weit von Verona. Sehr gute Busanbindung.
  
  What could be improved: Der Empfang war unfreundlich. Fragen wurden knapp beantwortet. Das Restaurant war – entgegen der Information auf Booking.com – geschlossen. Die alternative Restaurant-Empfehlung hatte ebenfalls geschlossen.
  Das italienische Frühstück war angemessen.

  K snídani nebyl velký výběr, např. pečivo jen toastový chléb a základní věci – šunka, sýr, míchaná vejce, jogurt atd. Ale vybrat se dalo. Sladké lepší výběr, vynikající byl domácí koláč a oceňuji čaj v konvičce a presso, příp. jiný druh kávy v ceně (ne z automatu). Naprosto luxusní byla večeře, domácí těstoviny od babičky, která tam vaří, výborné lokální víno a prostřeno v zahradě…krása!
  Pokoje čisté, výměna ručníků každý den, klimatizace fungovala a na přikrytí lehká peřina, ne jen prostěradlo, jako jinde;) Celkově spokojenost.
  
  What could be improved: Pokud někdo řeší bezlepkovou nebo bezlaktózovou stravu, k dispozici na snídani nic nebylo, ale možná by se dalo domluvit předem…

  location is great if you have your car and need to be on the outskirts for some quiet and on way to airport
  
  What could be improved: the two ladies at reception are in dire need of a customer service course!! You say good morning and they do not answer, you point out that there should be signage to indicate entrance/reception other than the bar/restaurant and first receptionist answered that it is obvious !!(it is not so, so much so that even GPS indicated the side overlooking the main road as the main access point!!) and finally same receptionist did not bother to check beforehand that we had paid already but asked us again at check out (we pointed out that we only had the city tax as outstanding payment – other receptionist at least pointed out that we had in fact already paid). Finally you would think that you should be given the room wifi immediately and when my partner went back to reception after check in and asked receptionist to write it down, she sighed as if he had asked her some big favour!
