ATTIKO 53 Boutique Rooms Overview

First Impressions

When I first pulled up to ATTIKO 53 Boutique Rooms, I’ll be honest — the location in Borgo Roma had me wondering if I’d made the right choice. This isn’t the postcard-perfect historic center you might expect, but you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries happen when you venture beyond the obvious tourist zones. The building itself has this understated elegance that grows on you, and there’s something refreshing about staying in a three-star place that doesn’t try too hard to impress.

The Neighborhood Reality

Borgo Roma is essentially a residential area south of Verona‘s center, and I mean that in the best possible way. You’re looking at about a 15-minute drive or bus ride to reach Juliet’s balcony and all that tourist magic, but honestly, I found myself appreciating the authentic Italian neighborhood vibe. There are local cafés where you can practice your Italian with actual Veronese locals, and the evening passeggiata here feels genuine rather than performed for visitors. Plus, you’ll actually find parking here — and it’s free, which is practically unheard of in Italian cities.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was thoughtfully designed with clean lines and modern touches that felt boutique-ish without being pretentious. The bed was comfortable (important after long days exploring), and the bathroom was spotless with good water pressure — you’d be surprised how often that’s not a given in European hotels. What I really appreciated was the attention to small details: proper reading lights, enough outlets for your devices, and blackout curtains that actually work. The soundproofing was decent too, though you might catch some street noise if you’re a particularly light sleeper.

Getting Around

Here’s where staying at ATTIKO 53 actually makes sense — the free parking situation is genuinely valuable if you’re doing a northern Italy road trip. I mean, try finding affordable parking in Venice or central Verona and you’ll understand why this matters. The bus connections into the city center are reliable, and having a car means you can easily explore the Valpolicella wine region or Lake Garda without the hassle of tours or complicated train schedules. The staff gave me solid directions and seemed to actually know the area, not just recite memorized tourist information.

Why Guests Love It

The couples rating makes perfect sense once you experience the place — there’s something intimate about the scale and the quiet neighborhood setting that works well for romantic getaways. You’re not fighting crowds to get to your hotel lobby, and the evening strolls through Borgo Roma have this lovely, lived-in Italian charm. The value proposition is solid too; you’re getting boutique-style accommodations without the boutique price tag, plus that precious free parking. It’s not going to wow you with a rooftop pool or fancy spa, but sometimes what you need is a well-run, comfortable base that lets you focus on exploring Verona rather than your hotel amenities.

Reviews of ATTIKO 53 Boutique Rooms

  • Jane from New Zealand – 14 October 2024 (8/10)

Clean, quiet and lively staff and comfortable bed

  • Gary from United States – 26 September 2024 (9/10)

    No breakfast

What could be improved: A little farther from train station and in poorer neighborhood. We felt safe though.

  • Ali from Turkey – 20 September 2024 (9/10)

It was spacious and very clean.

What could be improved: There was a fly in the room.

  • Levatate from United Kingdom – 16 September 2024 (9/10)

The room was a good size, quiet and had everything we needed. We were a little bit further out of the city than we would have liked. It seemed more like a business district and it was on a main road but these things are not the fault of the place. It was a great stay none the less and served us well.

What could be improved: Like I say, it was located in a bit of a business district. It was a bit of trek into the city. Not much around, had to go into the city more to take advantage of restaurants and nightlife

  • Vargas from United States – 8 September 2024 (9/10)

Visited one night to cover gap between hotels. The bed was comfy, room was clean, room was generous in size. The location is not near the center, but we had a car, they offered parking across the street and able to reach the center in 5 minutes.

What could be improved: I was not there long enough to give an honest review of things I did not like, that would be petty. Over all it served the purpose. Quality priced.

  • Rudolf from New Zealand – 31 August 2024 (9/10)

Once you get over the arrival at a rather odd setup in a semi-industrial area, all your doubts are put to rest as soon as you enter. Even though the place looks puzzling from the outside, the inside is completely refurbished and very modern with quality air condition, brand new interior and bathroom. Downstairs is a cool Asian-Fusion restaurant and across the street there is a very popular fancy "all you can eat" Japanese Restaurant.

What could be improved: All good but perhaps get someone with a power drill and fix the extra door lock to the door. Glue won't dot the trick.

  • Jan-olov from Sweden – 26 August 2024 (9/10)

The staff, she was very serviceminded, helpful, trustful and reliable!

What could be improved: Some drinking glas would have been good, but this is really a minor remark

  • Paul from Ireland – 23 August 2024 (9/10)

A bit far out, fairly industrial location

    What could be improved: Location

  • Mateusz from United Kingdom – 22 July 2024 (7/10)

    Everything was great, staff, facilities

What could be improved: Location. Without a car or scooter difficult to walk around motorways. No shops around

  • Stephen from Ireland – 16 July 2024 (8/10)

Decent price for Verona, good location, easy entrance using codes, clean, modem, comfortable rooms!

What could be improved: Not a criticism exactly, but I didn't see a single staff member in my time there. I arrived later than expected, so it was good that the codes were there, and I left early. But everything was great!
