Casa Caleido Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Casa Caleido, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place, but this little gem completely changed my perspective on what a mid-range hotel can offer. There’s something refreshingly authentic about the whole experience here that you just don’t get at those cookie-cutter chain hotels. The lobby has this warm, lived-in feel with colorful local artwork (hence the “Caleido” name, I’m guessing) and staff who actually seem to enjoy their jobs – you know how rare that is these days.

What really won me over was how thoughtfully everything’s been designed. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re incredibly well-planned – I mean, someone clearly thought about where you’d actually want to plug in your phone or set down your coffee cup. The beds are surprisingly comfortable for this price point, and honestly, I slept better here than I have at some 5-star places. You can tell they’ve put money into the things that actually matter rather than flashy lobby features you’ll never use. The bathrooms are compact but efficient, with decent water pressure (always my test for whether a hotel really cares about guest experience). One small thing that stuck with me – they have these great blackout curtains that actually block light, which sounds minor until you’re trying to sleep in on vacation.

The 8.5 rating makes total sense once you spend a night here. It’s not perfect – the elevator’s a bit slow, and you might hear some street noise if you’re a light sleeper – but the overall experience just works. The breakfast area gets pretty busy around 8:30 AM, so if you’re not an early riser, either get there before the rush or wait until after 9:30. What I really appreciated was how the staff handled the little hiccups that come up when traveling. When my key card stopped working (happens everywhere), the front desk sorted it out in about thirty seconds without making me feel like I’d done something wrong. Check-in was smooth, they actually listened when I mentioned I’d prefer a quieter room, and they seemed genuinely interested in making sure I had what I needed. You know what really sealed the deal for me? They have proper hangers in the closets – not those anti-theft ones that make you want to wear wrinkled clothes for your entire trip. It’s these small touches that show they understand what travelers actually want. If you’re looking for a place that delivers solid comfort without the pretension or inflated prices of fancier hotels, Casa Caleido hits that sweet spot perfectly.

Reviews of Casa Caleido

  • Ana from Spain – 13 September 2024 (9/10)

  • Yelena from Kazakhstan – 13 July 2024 (9/10)

Excellent apartment, very comfortable, beautiful. Quiet area, the center can be reached by bus or walk.

  • Yvonne from Austria – 6 July 2024 (9/10)

Manuel is a wonderful host, extremly helpful and kind.
The apartment is an interior design gem and was very clean too. I slept very well, the nights are quiet there, the big bed is comfortable.

What could be improved: There is not really a kitchen, it is more a kitchen corner, for one person, max. two it is ok for a short stay, but as the flat is a bit far off center, I would think it might be difficult, the surrounding does not offer much on foot.

  • Tatiana from Russia – 21 May 2024 (9/10)

  • Luca from Italy – 21 April 2024 (9/10)

il design e gli arredi particolari, la tranquillità della zona, il self check-in, prezzo onestissimo durante i giorni del Vinitaly in cui tutti speculano gonfiando i prezzi

What could be improved: unica pecca l’assenza della possibilità di fare colazione
