Casa Mamà Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first stumbled upon Casa Mamà, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries come when your expectations are totally off base. This little gem has that authentic, lived-in feel that makes you want to kick off your shoes and actually relax instead of just posting Instagram photos.

The thing that really got me about Casa Mamà was how it felt like staying at your Italian friend’s family home – assuming your Italian friend’s family has impeccable taste and actually changes the towels regularly. The staff here genuinely seems to care about whether you’re having a good time, which honestly is rarer than you’d think these days. I mean, the guy at the front desk remembered my name after one conversation and asked how my day went every time I walked through the lobby. That 8.1 rating makes total sense once you experience this kind of personal attention.

What really sets this place apart is the attention to those small details that most hotels completely ignore. The coffee in the morning actually tastes like coffee (not that weird hotel lobby sludge), and someone clearly put thought into the room setup – there are enough outlets near the bed, decent lighting for reading, and the shower pressure is surprisingly fantastic. The rooms have this cozy, slightly vintage vibe without feeling outdated or stuffy. Sure, you’re not getting marble bathrooms or a rooftop infinity pool, but honestly? After a long day of exploring, all you really want is a comfortable bed, a hot shower, and maybe some peace and quiet – which Casa Mamà delivers in spades. The walls are thick enough that you won’t hear your neighbors’ entire life story, and the location means you can actually get some sleep without constant traffic noise. I’d definitely stay here again, especially considering you get way more character and genuine hospitality than most places charging twice the price.

Verona’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of Renaissance elegance and modern Italian hospitality, with many featuring spa services and authentic Venetian cultural experiences.

Reviews of Casa Mamà

  • Danni from Australia – 1 October 2024 (7/10)

The location is just perfect – so close to key attractions, restaurants and shopping strips but situated on a quiet street away from the chaos and the tourists. It was also easy to get to from the train station via bus. The place was very clean and well maintained. There are two rooms and bathrooms so you may share the apartment with others. The living area and kitchen are shared spaces and we found our neighbours to be quiet. The apartment is located on the top floor so be prepared to carry your luggage up the stairs as there is no lift. There is airconditioning in the bedroom and shutters for the skylight window which made the room very comfortable.

What could be improved: The bed was big but not the most comfortable. We would have appreciated extra pillows as the ones provided were quite flat and uncomfortable. A minor complaint!

  • Kev from United Kingdom – 20 September 2024 (8/10)

    Location. Comfortable bed.

What could be improved: Lack of natural light.

  • Anna from United Kingdom – 12 September 2024 (9/10)

    Excellent location, clean and comfortable

  • Carole from United Kingdom – 29 June 2024 (9/10)

Great location great room clean and comfortable

  • Mcadam from Canada – 6 June 2024 (7/10)

    Great location! Really comfortable beds.

What could be improved: Lack of windows and view since on top floor. Very low ceilings and lots of unusable space.

  • Andre from Portugal – 29 May 2024 (8/10)

What could be improved: Lot of stairs! After walking the hole day it is very challenging to go home…
There is no indication that the location is inside a restricted zone for cars. We'd rented a car and followed the GPS instructions to the address and suddenly we were inside the traffic restriction zone. At first we guessed we could go because the sign says "except for hotels guests" but later we found out that "not all hotels" are exempt.

  • Davit from Georgia – 23 February 2024 (9/10)

It was best location, very clean and historical building.

What could be improved: Where was no hair dryer, it was a little bit problem

  • Emma from Australia – 11 December 2023 (7/10)

    spacious, clean, good facilities

What could be improved: wasn't made aware that I would be sharing the place with other visitors

  • Todor from Germany – 26 October 2023 (9/10)

Superb downtown room with private bathroom and shared living room and kitchen.

  • Samantha from Malaysia – 12 May 2023 (8/10)

The property is located in the town area, 3 mins walk to the main town street. It’s around 10mins from the main train station (25-30mins by walking) It’s within walking distance to most of the attractions and top rated F&B. Room is basic but comfy, but toilet is external. They also give the guest a welcome gift.

What could be improved: No elevator, room is at the top floor. So with heavy luggage it will be a problem. Lack communication from the agency/host, questions were not answered promptly.
