Castello San Felice Overview
You know what really struck me about Castello San Felice? It’s one of those places where you walk in and immediately think “okay, this is exactly what a 3-star Italian hotel should be” – but in the best possible way. I mean, sometimes you hear “3-star” and worry it’ll be disappointing, but honestly, this place punches way above its weight class. That 9.3 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen – you feel it the moment you step through the doors.
The whole setup has this authentic Italian charm that doesn’t feel manufactured for tourists, if that makes sense. The stone walls and traditional architecture give you that genuine castello vibe (hence the name, obviously), but everything’s been updated thoughtfully. The rooms are clean and comfortable without being flashy – think quality linens, decent-sized bathrooms, and those little touches that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. I particularly loved how quiet it gets at night; you’re not dealing with paper-thin walls or street noise keeping you up, which honestly can make or break a trip when you’re trying to recover from all that walking and sightseeing.
What really sets this place apart though is the staff – they’ve got that perfect balance of being helpful without hovering. Check-in was smooth, they actually knew the area well enough to give solid restaurant recommendations (not just the touristy spots), and when I had a question about local transportation, they didn’t just shrug and point to a generic brochure. The breakfast situation was surprisingly good too – fresh pastries, proper coffee, and enough variety that you’re not stuck with stale rolls and mystery jam. Actually, the coffee alone made me happy I wasn’t staying at one of those chain places. There’s something about starting your day with a proper Italian espresso that just sets the right tone, you know? The location works really well for exploring – you’re not stuck in some remote area wondering how to get anywhere, but you’re also not dealing with the chaos of being right in the thick of tourist central. It’s that sweet spot where you can walk to interesting places without feeling like you’re fighting crowds every time you step outside.

Accommodation was spotless and so well equipped. Breakfast left was plentiful and fridge well stocked. Location was fantastic – could walk straight into Verona on Ponte Pietra bridge. Owners were so helpful and arranged to meet us on arrival, couldn’t have made the process easier.

Comfortable and nice apartment. Really clean and tidy. Parking possible at the door.. Very good location for downtown walking. Recommended.
What could be improved: Strange noises in the fridge during the night. Probably in the coolers cooling system. It is in the sleeping room so without possibility to move out for sleeping. But if this is fixed, all is perfect.Eileen from United Kingdom – 10 July 2023 (10/10)

The B&B is run by a lovely lady that takes meticulous care of the property. It is very spacious with a dedicated parking spot just outside the front door. The bathroom is large with double sinks. The 4-poster bed is super comfortable. The dining table is set up very nicely for breakfast the next day. There was coffee, water, milk, juice, yoghurt and sever kinds of fruit plus the usual Italian breakfast items (various biscuits). Everything was spotlessly cleaned. It is situated about 10 minutes walk from the nearest bridge to Citta Antica so for us it was perfectly located in a very quiet area.
