Hotel Description
I remember pulling up to the Duomo Apartment on Via Arcidiacono Pacifico – it’s this narrow little street tucked right into Verona’s historical center, you know, the kind where you have to watch out for those Vespas zipping by. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical at first because parking in Verona can be a nightmare, especially during the summer opera season when the Arena’s packed and tourists flood in from everywhere. But we lucked out; there’s a public lot just a short walk away on Via Emilei, and the hotel folks emailed us tips on it beforehand, which saved us from circling for ages. Stepping inside felt like stepping back in time – the building’s got that classic Veronese charm with exposed brick walls and these high, beamed ceilings that make you feel like you’re in an old palazzo, not some cookie-cutter spot. Our apartment (yeah, it’s more like a serviced flat than a traditional hotel room) overlooked a quiet courtyard, and the first thing that hit me was the faint scent of espresso drifting up from the café downstairs – nothing beats waking up to that in the morning.
What really sold me on the place, though, was how it balances that old-world vibe with practical touches that make traveling easier. The kitchenette’s fully stocked – we’re talking a proper espresso machine, not one of those pod things – so we whipped up quick breakfasts with stuff from the market on Piazza delle Erbe, which is literally a five-minute stroll away. You can hear the bells from the actual Duomo (Cattedrale di Verona) chiming in the distance, especially at dawn when the city’s still sleepy and the air’s crisp with that river mist from the Adige. It’s rated 8.5 for good reason; the beds are comfy, with those thick cotton sheets that don’t feel synthetic, and the Wi-Fi’s strong enough for streaming without buffering, which was a godsend after long days wandering. That said, it’s not perfect – the bathroom’s on the smaller side, and if you’re there in July, the lack of heavy curtains means the morning light pours in early, sort of forcing you to get up and explore (which isn’t the worst thing, I mean, Verona’s magic at sunrise). Check-in was a breeze; the host met us right on time, shared some insider spots like that hidden gelateria on Via Cappello – way better than the tourist traps near Juliet’s House.
All in all, if you’re heading to Verona and want something that feels authentic without skimping on comfort, this 4-star gem is worth it. It’s smack in the heart of things, so you can ditch the car and just wander – cross the Ponte Pietra for views that make you forget the crowds. We stayed during a quieter shoulder season in May, when the jasmine’s blooming and everything smells sweet, but even in peak times, the apartment’s insulation keeps the street noise at bay. I’d go back in a heartbeat; it’s the kind of place that makes you feel like a local, sipping wine on your balcony while the city hums below. Just pack light – those stairs might test you if you’ve got heavy bags.

We love it. good location in a quiet place but close to the center. The commoditties are great and the host is always available for anything. We had a small problem in the shower but they quickly resolved it and even left more coffee capsules.

Exactly as advertised l.
Hristiyana from Bulgaria – 1 July 2024 (8/10)
Good location, clean, quiet
What could be improved: Self check in explicitly stated and reminded it is until 7 pm, which I did not really understand, considering it is with a code.
On the checkout morning, a guy came even 5 minutes before 10 am to start cleaning, which was not too nice, you always have some buffer time of 30 munites, especially in such early checkouts on a Sunday.Ju from United Kingdom – 17 February 2024 (9/10)
sweet home
easy for check in
What could be improved: The drain is clogged
and the shower door can’t close properlyArmand from Albania – 30 October 2023 (9/10)
The apartment was very good overall. The location was great, you can reach walking almost all main sites of the city. The main sleeping room was good enough with very comfy bed and the other sleeping room was small but quite enough for two kids (even two adults can sleep but the room was small).
What could be improved: Opening main door is an automatic process by calling a number (just ringing it), but it may happen for different reasons you can not make a call in Roaming or you may run out of phone battery (me personally had trouble with my operator and couldn't make outgoing calls), probably a solution with code is much better than with calls. However, the hosts were very friendly and ready to help for any trouble.Sara from Ireland – 1 October 2023 (8/10)
