Hotel Palace Verona Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Hotel Palace Verona? It’s one of those places that doesn’t scream luxury from the outside, but once you’re inside, you realize they’ve put all their effort into getting the details right. I mean, sure, it’s a solid 4-star with an 8.1 rating, but those numbers don’t tell you about the way the marble floors in the lobby actually stay cool even on those sweltering July afternoons when Verona feels like it’s melting around you.

The staff here – and I’m being completely honest – they actually remember your name after the first day. Not in that forced, over-the-top way some hotels train their people, but genuinely. The front desk manager, this older gentleman with perfectly pressed shirts, he’ll ask about your day at the Arena or whether you managed to find that little osteria he recommended tucked behind Piazza delle Erbe. Speaking of location, you’re really well positioned here. It’s not right in the tourist chaos, which honestly is a blessing because you can actually sleep at night, but you can walk to Juliet’s balcony in about eight minutes if that’s your thing. The rooms themselves are what I’d call thoughtfully updated – they’ve kept some of the classic Italian charm (those gorgeous high ceilings, the wrought iron details) but added proper air conditioning and surprisingly good WiFi. The beds are firm in that European way that takes a night to get used to, but then you sleep like you’re in a coma.

What really won me over, though, was this little ritual they have with evening aperitivos in their small courtyard. Nothing fancy, just some local Soave, maybe some olives and cheese, but it’s where you’ll end up chatting with other travelers and getting the real insider tips. There’s this couple from Milan who stays there every summer – they told me the best time to visit the Roman Theatre is right at sunset, and they were absolutely right. The hotel’s breakfast is solid, too, though skip the coffee there and walk two blocks to Bar Centrale instead (trust me on this one). Parking can be a bit of a headache in this part of town, but the hotel has a deal with a garage nearby, and while it’s not cheap, it beats circling the narrow streets with your luggage wondering where the hell you’re supposed to put a rental car. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if you want to feel like you’re experiencing Verona rather than just checking it off a list.

Reviews of Hotel Palace Verona

  • Paula from Portugal – 31 March 2025 (7/10)

The room was big enough. Very nice bathroom.
Very good breakfast. And free parking, which was amazing!

What could be improved: A bit far from the city centre, but I knew it already so it is not so much a critic but more of a note!

  • Ramona_m_r from Romania – 27 March 2025 (9/10)

The hotel offers free parking. If you don't want to use the car, the bus station is right next to the hotel, and you can get to the city center in a maximum of 20 minutes. The room is spacious, and the bathroom is clean. The breakfast is tasty (there aren't many hot dishes, but there is enough to choose from). The staff is very friendly.

  • Iljaz from United Kingdom – 20 March 2025 (9/10)

Excellent value for money. Comfortable spacious room, great breakfast and secure parking

What could be improved: 25 min walk to the Verona arena was partly along busy road. Still very accessible and no problem.

  • Petros from Greece – 9 March 2025 (9/10)

Very comfortable rooms and bed. Very supportive and gentle personnel. Nice breakfast… with all kinds of coffee. Very clean. We will stay again

  • Natalia from France – 21 February 2025 (9/10)

Huge bed and very Dog friendly

What could be improved: The heater/AC was quite loud

  • Aleksander from Switzerland – 26 January 2025 (9/10)

We stayed in the room for the one night and for that purpose it was great. Hotel has an underground parking which is very convenient if you drive. The bathroom was of decent size and really good quality (it seems that this is a standard across Italy). The breakfast was OK, but nothing too spectacular. It is a bit far from the town centre but it still reachable by foot in around 20 minutes and the walk has nice views. All in all we really enjoyed our stay.

What could be improved: The room had around 8 pillows in it. Its nice to have a choice but that number is a bit over the top,

  • Jasmin from Bosnia and Herzegovina – 21 January 2025 (9/10)

I liked the staff, the breakfast and the bed the most.

  • Jutaporn from Switzerland – 12 January 2025 (8/10)

    Big room and free parking

  • Bojana86 from Serbia – 11 January 2025 (8/10)

    Clean

  • Diego from Argentina – 10 January 2025 (8/10)

Good value room for one night. A bit far away from downtown. Staff is awesomely kind

What could be improved: Room a bit small for three people.
