Hotel Verona Overview

You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked into Hotel Verona – honestly, three-star places can be such a gamble these days. But this little gem actually surprised me in the best way possible. The lobby has this understated charm that immediately puts you at ease, nothing fancy or pretentious, just clean lines and warm lighting that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something the locals have been keeping to themselves. The staff behind the front desk genuinely seemed happy to see guests arrive, which is rarer than you’d think – I mean, how many times have you checked into a hotel where the person looks like they’d rather be anywhere else?

What really won me over was the attention to those small details that most places completely overlook. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re thoughtfully laid out so you’re not bumping into furniture every time you turn around. The beds are actually comfortable (I’m pretty picky about this), and the bathroom has decent water pressure – trust me, after a long day of walking around, that hot shower hits different. The windows open properly too, which might sound silly but there’s something nice about getting fresh air instead of being trapped with recycled AC all night. I stayed during a relatively busy period and was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it stayed – you could hear some street noise during the day, but nothing that kept me up at night.

Here’s the thing that really sets this place apart though – it feels genuine. The breakfast isn’t some elaborate buffet with fifty options, but what they do have is fresh and well-prepared. I actually found myself looking forward to their coffee each morning, which says something because I’m usually pretty skeptical of hotel coffee. The whole vibe is just… comfortable, I guess? Like staying at a friend’s place who actually knows how to host people properly. With an 8.6 rating, I can see why other travelers keep coming back – it’s one of those spots that doesn’t try too hard but gets the fundamentals right. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or a rooftop pool, but you are getting a solid night’s sleep, friendly service, and that rare feeling that you picked well. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Reviews of Hotel Verona

  • Elena from Italy – 5 April 2025 (9/10)

    Just great.

  • Zoe from Switzerland – 4 April 2025 (9/10)

The location was excellent, the rooms were nice with a good view and the breakfast was totally worth it.

  • Graeme from Ireland – 4 April 2025 (8/10)

The hotel is modern, clean and located ideally for a short walk to Piazza de Bra & the rest of the city.
We didn’t avail of the breakfast service, but for €6 per person it isn’t far off what you would expect to pay for a cappuccino & cornetto in the city restaurants and coffee shops.

What could be improved: Unfortunately our room was situated close to the lifts and it could be quite noisy from the corridor at night. No noise came from the adjacent rooms, just through the doors.
Unfortunately, there was also a misunderstanding regarding the rooms, which meant the Single Double rooms I reserved were meant for just 1 guest per room, not the travelling party of 4 which incurred a nightly supplement per person.

  • Graham from Ireland – 1 April 2025 (8/10)

Nice little hotel about halfway between the train station and the old town of Verona so the location is perfect.
Room was nice and spacious , comfortable and room very clean .
There was a nice local bistro outside the hotel so very convenient for having some food and drink and stepping into the hotel .

  • Katalin from United Kingdom – 23 March 2025 (9/10)

Clean rooms, nice staff, lovely breakfast

  • Martine from France – 20 March 2025 (9/10)

Perfect quiet location in a nice area of Verona with bars and restaurants next to the hotel and just a few blocks to city center and train station. Nicely renovated with modern style, confortable rooms well equipped. My room was spacious with large windows and open view. Staff friendly accommodating a late checkout. Good continental breakfast in a nice setting.

What could be improved: The shower is nice yet a bit tiny and the floor cover very slippery. Would need to put some anti-slippery carpet for showers to avoid accidents…

  • Sindy from United Kingdom – 9 March 2025 (9/10)

It was clean, modern and very welcoming. I did not expect the location to be so perfect! It’s a 5 minute walk to the Arena & Piazza Bra and a 10 minute walk to Porta Nuova Station. This hotel made my trip to Verona a dream!

What could be improved: The only thing that was a bit annoying was the heat in the room, the AC control’s were not working in my room & I could not adjust the heat in the room – A bit unbearable during the night. I only stayed 2 nights & did not have enough to let reception know so that they could amend during my stay but just something to watch out for.

  • Miguel from Belgium – 9 March 2025 (9/10)

The hotel is in a very central location, close to all services.
This hotel has the advantage to have their own parking, but it is highly recommended to reserve a place.

  • Olga from Lithuania – 24 February 2025 (9/10)

Perfect location, a few steps to Arena. The hotel is modern, all facilities are new and functional. The room was spacious, even for a family of 5. We loved the breakfast, which is continental (no hot meals), but good variety and quality, great Italian coffee and an impressive collection of tea. Very good choice to stay in Verona.

What could be improved: Much noise from the street on Saturday night, as we kept our windows open. Maybe not a problem at all, if you choose to close the windows.

  • Robert from Czech Republic – 20 June 2023 (9/10)

I chose this hotel as a last minute option because of its location and the modest price. I was surprised by the modern and clean interior of my room. It was spacy and with the small balcony in the courtyard. The A/C operated on the wall according to one's preference, hot water ok, wifi ok, the breakfast appropriate to the price, friendly staff. The location is no in the historical city centre but it is just 15min walking, also the same distance to railway station. What a great place to stay for such a price, thanks.
