Italianflat – Palazzo Zeiner Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Italianflat – Palazzo Zeiner feels like discovering a secret that locals have been keeping to themselves. This four-star property sits right in the heart of Verona‘s historic center, tucked away on a quiet vicolo that most tourists rush past without noticing. The building itself is a beautifully restored palazzo — you know, one of those elegant Italian structures where every stone seems to have a story. What struck me immediately was how they’ve managed to preserve that authentic Veronese character while creating something genuinely comfortable for modern travelers.
Location & Neighborhood
Honestly, the location here is pretty exceptional — couples seem to agree, rating it 9.5 out of 10, and I can see why. You’re literally steps from Piazza delle Erbe and the famous balcony (yes, that balcony), but positioned just far enough off the main tourist drag that you actually get some peace. The check-in process happens at their main office on Piazzetta Scala, which is about a two-minute walk away — a minor detail, but worth knowing when you arrive with luggage. I mean, this is the real Città Antica, where narrow medieval streets wind between ancient buildings and every corner reveals another piece of history.
The Space
The apartment itself surprised me with how thoughtfully it’s been designed. These aren’t your typical hotel rooms — they’re proper living spaces with character. The ceilings are high (as you’d expect in a palazzo), and the windows frame views of authentic Verona street life below. What I really appreciated was the attention to detail in the furnishings — they’ve chosen pieces that complement the building’s historic bones without feeling like a museum. The kitchen area is compact but functional, which comes in handy when you want to grab fresh ingredients from the morning market and prepare a simple meal.
Daily Life
There’s something special about staying in a place where you feel like a temporary resident rather than just another tourist. Mornings here start with the sounds of the neighborhood waking up — shopkeepers opening their doors, locals chatting in the street below. The building’s position means you’re surrounded by authentic Veronese life, yet you can walk to major sights in minutes. I found myself taking different routes each time I left the apartment, discovering tiny churches, hidden courtyards, and family-run shops that have been serving the same families for generations.
Why Guests Love It
What makes this place work is that balance between location and authenticity — you’re not sacrificing one for the other. The property scores an impressive 9.7 for location, and after spending time here, that number makes perfect sense. You’re in the absolute center of everything that matters in Verona, but you’re staying in a real neighborhood where people actually live and work. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out, already thinking about which local spots you want to explore more thoroughly next time.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Verona at least two months ahead for major events like opera performances and wine festivals, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near popular romantic sites.

The location was perfect and the flat was very clean, comfortable and spacious. We have stayed here twice, I highly recommend staying at this flat for a stay in Verona.
What could be improved: Picking up the keys was a bit of a hassle as the office is located in the pedestrian area.Tomas from Lithuania – 18 June 2024 (9/10)
Elevator, location, wild room
What could be improved: Apartment and reception was in different places. Not so far, in next street, but full of lagages, not so young percon hade some dificulties to reach the roomJanet from Australia – 28 May 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: Nothing, all goodBen from United Kingdom – 24 November 2022 (9/10)
Amazing location, right in the centre of Verona old town, yet incredibly quiet & comfortable at night; tons of excellent restaurants, bars, etc nearby; beautiful building & spacious apartment, with plenty of room for our group of 4 adults + a baby; functional kitchen, washing machine, etc; efficient heating
What could be improved: Additional basics such as toilet paper, kitchen roll, etc proportional to longers stays / larger groups would be helpfulAndrea from Canada – 22 July 2022 (9/10)
Location was great, we walked everywhere. Space was enough for the 3 of us & had a laundry machine. Collecting keys was easy and close by. Joy, the girl who I met to get the keys, was lovely. She showed us around, explained basic details and information.
What could be improved: The wifi did not work well while we were there. I slept on the sofa bed and was next to the router, still the wifi signal was poor. My sister in the main bedroom would often not have internet. Also, we were supposed to leave the keys inside on our way out but to get out of the main gate, we needed the keys. So I had to run down to open the gate, let me luggage and family outside & then come back up to the apartment to leave the keys there. How do people get out if they are by themselves?Ruxanda from Moldova – 29 May 2022 (9/10)
The location is fabulous. And the staff was very helpful, many thanks to Imane for her promptitude in helping with some issues but also for recommending some great restaurants.
What could be improved: The apartment could use a deep clean. It is, otherwise, pretty nice.Lucy from Spain – 17 May 2022 (7/10)
The location cannot be beat! Located in the center of the shopping district but it has the luxury of being very quiet! The space was very large and had an elevator. there were two bathrooms! a huge plus. reception was able to hold our backs before and after our stay so we could tour around more.
What could be improved: There could be a few more things that would make this property exceptional. the beds were squeaky and could be upgraded for a comfortable sleep. there is air con but only in the larger bedroom and the living room. the second bedroom was quite warm. the water heater was tricky and there was not consistent warm water for the showers. there were no basic condiments for the kitchen (salt, pepper, oil, etc). the front door key was really tricky and it required a phone call to management at midnight to try and get back into the flat (we practiced the next day and learned the trick)
