Hotel Description
I remember pulling into Verona on a balmy summer evening, the kind where the sun hangs low over the Adige River and everything smells faintly of fresh espresso and blooming jasmine from those hidden courtyard gardens. Honestly, finding Italianflat – Palazzo Zeiner wasn’t a total breeze – it’s tucked away on Vicolo Giuseppe Mazzini, this narrow little alley in the historical center, and with all the one-way streets and ZTL zones (you know, those restricted traffic areas that can slap you with a fine if you’re not careful), I ended up parking at the public lot near Castelvecchio and walking the last bit. But hey, that’s Verona for you – compact, walkable, and full of surprises. Check-in’s actually at their main spot on Piazzetta Scala, just a stone’s throw away, which was sort of a quirky setup but made sense once I got there; the staff were all smiles, handing over keys with tips on the best gelato spots nearby, like that tiny place on Via Mazzini where they do a killer pistachio.
What really won me over about Palazzo Zeiner was how it felt like stepping into a slice of old Verona without the stuffiness – it’s in this restored palazzo, you see, with those high ceilings and exposed brick walls that whisper stories from the Renaissance (or at least that’s what I imagined while sipping wine on the balcony). The rooms are spacious for a 4-star spot in the center – mine had a comfy king bed with crisp linens that smelled like they’ve been line-dried in the Italian sun, and a modern bathroom with rain showers that actually had decent pressure, which isn’t always a given in these historic buildings. I mean, it’s not perfect; the Wi-Fi could be spotty during peak hours when everyone’s streaming, and if you’re a light sleeper, the evening bustle from nearby Piazza delle Erbe – think clinking glasses and street musicians playing Verdi tunes – might filter in until around midnight, especially during opera season at the Arena (which is literally a five-minute stroll away). But well, that’s part of the charm, right? Mornings were my favorite – waking to the sound of church bells from Santa Anastasia, grabbing a cappuccino at the corner café on Via Cappello (yep, right by Juliet’s House, though it’s more touristy than romantic these days), and feeling like I was living in the city rather than just visiting.
All in all, if you’re after an authentic Verona stay without breaking the bank – it scores an 8.4 for a reason, blending that boutique apartment vibe with hotel perks like daily cleaning – I’d say go for it. It’s ideal for couples or solo travelers who want to dive into the local scene; families might find the stairs a bit much without an elevator, and parking’s a hassle if you’re driving, but honestly, who needs a car when you’re this central? Book in shoulder season like spring or fall to avoid the crowds, and you’ll thank me later – it’s the kind of place that makes you linger over breakfast, plotting your next gelato run.

The location was perfect and the flat was very clean, comfortable and spacious. We have stayed here twice, I highly recommend staying at this flat for a stay in Verona.
What could be improved: Picking up the keys was a bit of a hassle as the office is located in the pedestrian area.Ines from United States – 25 August 2024 (9/10)
What could be improved: The coffe maker was broken unfairly. But everything else was fine! Beautiful place and location specially!! Grazie Mille!

Elevator, location, wild room
What could be improved: Apartment and reception was in different places. Not so far, in next street, but full of lagages, not so young percon hade some dificulties to reach the roomJanet from Australia – 28 May 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: Nothing, all goodBen from United Kingdom – 24 November 2022 (9/10)
Amazing location, right in the centre of Verona old town, yet incredibly quiet & comfortable at night; tons of excellent restaurants, bars, etc nearby; beautiful building & spacious apartment, with plenty of room for our group of 4 adults + a baby; functional kitchen, washing machine, etc; efficient heating
What could be improved: Additional basics such as toilet paper, kitchen roll, etc proportional to longers stays / larger groups would be helpfulAndrea from Canada – 22 July 2022 (9/10)
Location was great, we walked everywhere. Space was enough for the 3 of us & had a laundry machine. Collecting keys was easy and close by. Joy, the girl who I met to get the keys, was lovely. She showed us around, explained basic details and information.
What could be improved: The wifi did not work well while we were there. I slept on the sofa bed and was next to the router, still the wifi signal was poor. My sister in the main bedroom would often not have internet. Also, we were supposed to leave the keys inside on our way out but to get out of the main gate, we needed the keys. So I had to run down to open the gate, let me luggage and family outside & then come back up to the apartment to leave the keys there. How do people get out if they are by themselves?Ruxanda from Moldova – 29 May 2022 (9/10)
The location is fabulous. And the staff was very helpful, many thanks to Imane for her promptitude in helping with some issues but also for recommending some great restaurants.
What could be improved: The apartment could use a deep clean. It is, otherwise, pretty nice.Lucy from Spain – 17 May 2022 (7/10)
The location cannot be beat! Located in the center of the shopping district but it has the luxury of being very quiet! The space was very large and had an elevator. there were two bathrooms! a huge plus. reception was able to hold our backs before and after our stay so we could tour around more.
What could be improved: There could be a few more things that would make this property exceptional. the beds were squeaky and could be upgraded for a comfortable sleep. there is air con but only in the larger bedroom and the living room. the second bedroom was quite warm. the water heater was tricky and there was not consistent warm water for the showers. there were no basic condiments for the kitchen (salt, pepper, oil, etc). the front door key was really tricky and it required a phone call to management at midnight to try and get back into the flat (we practiced the next day and learned the trick)
