I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Italianflat – Palazzo Zeiner, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The word “flat” had me thinking basic apartment rental, but walking into this place completely changed my perspective. This is actually a beautifully converted palazzo that manages to feel both grand and homey at the same time, which is honestly pretty rare in my experience.

What struck me immediately was how they’ve kept so much of the original character intact. The ceilings are these gorgeous high affairs with period details that make you want to just lie on the bed and stare up for a while (and trust me, I did). The floors have that authentic Italian stone feel that’s cool under your feet in summer – you know the type I mean. But here’s the thing that really impressed me: they’ve modernized everything without making it feel like they just slapped contemporary fixtures into an old building. The bathrooms are sleek and actually functional, the Wi-Fi works everywhere (tested it thoroughly), and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a freight train, which honestly deserves a medal in Italy.

The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s definitely upscale but not stuffy or pretentious. I mean, you’re staying in a palazzo, so there’s inherent elegance, but the staff treats you like a person, not a guest number. Check-in was smooth, and they actually gave me useful local tips instead of just handing over generic tourist brochures. The 8.1 rating makes sense too – it’s really solid across the board without being absolutely perfect. My only minor gripe was that the street can get a bit lively in the evenings (Italian streets, what can you say?), but honestly, that just adds to the authentic feel. You’ll want to pack earplugs if you’re a light sleeper, but the energy outside is part of the charm. The location puts you right in the thick of things without being touristy-central, if that makes sense – you can actually walk to proper local spots for dinner and morning coffee. I found myself coming back to the palazzo each evening genuinely excited to settle into that beautiful space, which is probably the best compliment I can give any place I’ve stayed.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Verona at least two months ahead for major events like opera performances and wine festivals, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near popular romantic sites.

  The location was perfect and the flat was very clean, comfortable and spacious. We have stayed here twice, I highly recommend staying at this flat for a stay in Verona.
  
  What could be improved: Picking up the keys was a bit of a hassle as the office is located in the pedestrian area.

  Amazing location, right in the centre of Verona old town, yet incredibly quiet & comfortable at night; tons of excellent restaurants, bars, etc nearby; beautiful building & spacious apartment, with plenty of room for our group of 4 adults + a baby; functional kitchen, washing machine, etc; efficient heating

  Location was great, we walked everywhere. Space was enough for the 3 of us & had a laundry machine. Collecting keys was easy and close by. Joy, the girl who I met to get the keys, was lovely. She showed us around, explained basic details and information.
  
  What could be improved: The wifi did not work well while we were there. I slept on the sofa bed and was next to the router, still the wifi signal was poor. My sister in the main bedroom would often not have internet. Also, we were supposed to leave the keys inside on our way out but to get out of the main gate, we needed the keys. So I had to run down to open the gate, let me luggage and family outside & then come back up to the apartment to leave the keys there. How do people get out if they are by themselves?

  The location cannot be beat! Located in the center of the shopping district but it has the luxury of being very quiet! The space was very large and had an elevator. there were two bathrooms! a huge plus. reception was able to hold our backs before and after our stay so we could tour around more.
  
  What could be improved: There could be a few more things that would make this property exceptional. the beds were squeaky and could be upgraded for a comfortable sleep. there is air con but only in the larger bedroom and the living room. the second bedroom was quite warm. the water heater was tricky and there was not consistent warm water for the showers. there were no basic condiments for the kitchen (salt, pepper, oil, etc). the front door key was really tricky and it required a phone call to management at midnight to try and get back into the flat (we practiced the next day and learned the trick)
