Hotel Description
You know, I stumbled upon Love Suite Verona almost by accident last spring, when my partner and I were wandering the cobbled alleys of Verona’s historical center after a long day at the Arena – that ancient amphitheater where they still do those epic opera shows in summer, if you’re into that sort of thing. Tucked away on Vicolo Ghiaia, just off the bustling Via Cappello (yeah, the one leading straight to Juliet’s House with all those love locks and tourists scribbling notes on the walls), this place is on the first floor of an old stone building – piano primo, as they say here. Honestly, finding it was a bit of a treasure hunt; the narrow vicolo means no direct car access, so we parked over by the Adige River on Lungadige Cangrande and hoofed it the last few blocks with our bags. But once we buzzed in and climbed those creaky wooden stairs, it felt like stepping into a secret hideaway. The check-in was super low-key – just a friendly host named Marco who handed over the keys with a quick espresso and some tips on avoiding the crowds at Piazza delle Erbe. No big lobby fuss, which I appreciated after dealing with Verona’s tourist throngs.
What really won me over, though, was how the suite itself nailed that romantic Verona vibe without trying too hard – I mean, it’s called Love Suite for a reason, right? Our room had these exposed brick walls that smelled faintly of aged wood and lavender from the fresh linens, and a massive four-poster bed that was honestly comfier than it looked. There’s a little kitchenette stocked with local goodies like Amarone wine and pandoro cake – perfect for lazy mornings when you don’t want to brave the breakfast rush at nearby cafes like the one on Via Stella. We opened the windows to the sounds of distant church bells from San Zeno (it’s only a 15-minute stroll away) and the occasional scooter zipping by below, but it was surprisingly quiet at night, even during peak season. Well, except for that one evening when a street musician set up nearby – sort of charming, actually, until it hit midnight. The bathroom’s a highlight too, with a rain shower that felt luxurious after hiking up to Castel San Pietro for those panoramic views over the river. And get this: they have these thoughtful touches like complimentary bikes for exploring, which we used to zip over to the Giardino Giusti gardens – underrated spot, if you ask me, especially in April when everything’s blooming.
All in all, if you’re heading to Verona for a romantic getaway or just to soak up the Shakespearean charm (Romeo and Juliet fans, this is your playground), Love Suite is a gem that feels authentically local without skimping on comfort. It’s not the cheapest – rates spike in July for the opera festival – but with that near-perfect 9.9 rating, you get why. We left feeling like we’d uncovered a piece of the real Verona, away from the tour buses. Just remember to pack light for those stairs, and maybe book a table at Osteria del Bugiardo down the street for some bigoli pasta – trust me, it’s worth it.

An apartment near the very heart of Verona, as beautiful as the city itself. New, modern, cozy, clean compact apartment with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The courtesy and kindness of the apartment owners are equally exceptional. Garage with the possibility of booking a place nearby. In a word: FANTASTIC. We highly recommend it.

Beautiful apartment newly furnished, located in a nice location near the center and within walking distance of the train station. Very comfortable bed with several types of pillows, a fully equipped bathroom and a kitchen with an excellent coffee machine and Italian coffee. The flat is quiet, so you can take a good break from the busy city. The breakfast was not included in the accommodation, but it didn't matter, because the apartment was very well equipped to prepare breakfast. Near the house there was an excellent café with the possibility of breakfast. That was better and more comfortable for us.. The host Mauro and Pauli were very friendly and nice. They very willingly to recommended us good restaurants or how best to get to another city.
