Residenza Palazzo Negri Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Residenza Palazzo Negri? Walking up to this place, you’d never guess from the street just how incredible it actually is inside. I mean, the entrance is understated in that classic Italian way – no flashy signs or doormen – but once you step through those doors, it’s like discovering a hidden gem that somehow earned itself a solid 9.2 rating without shouting about it.

The whole place has this authentic palazzo feel that you just can’t fake. I’m talking about those high ceilings with original frescoes that make you crane your neck like you’re in a museum, except this is actually where you’re sleeping tonight. The rooms – and I stayed in one of their standard ones, nothing fancy – still had these gorgeous period details mixed with modern touches that actually work. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious (you know how Italian hotels can be with tiny bathrooms), and honestly, the bed was one of those where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re being swallowed whole.

What really sold me on this place was the staff’s approach – they’re not hovering, but when you need something, they know exactly what you’re asking for before you finish the question. The woman at reception actually drew me a little map showing which streets to avoid during morning rush hour and where to find the best coffee nearby (not the tourist trap stuff, but where locals actually go). That’s the kind of insider knowledge you can’t Google. The building itself sits in one of those quieter pockets where you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the main thoroughfares that you’re not dealing with constant street noise. I slept with the windows open most nights, which tells you something about both the location and the neighborhood feel. Parking was sorted without drama – they handled it through a local garage partnership, so no circling blocks looking for a spot.

Sure, it’s a 4-star place, so you’re not getting a spa or a rooftop pool, but what you are getting is that rare combination of authentic character and genuine comfort. The kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere with real history, not just a themed hotel trying too hard to look historic. By my third day, the morning desk clerk was asking how I liked my coffee, and I realized I’d found one of those spots that gets recommended in quiet conversations rather than splashed across travel blogs.

Lovely well equipped room with balcony in a central location. Host was amazingly helpful and friendly.

What could be improved: Everything was great!

  • Francisco from United States – 4 February 2025 (10/10)

The place is super well located run the middle of every thing, The rooms are very large clean and comfy, Luisa answered all my questions very fast and she speaks perfect Spanish, English and of course Italian and maybe another language, I would rent this place again if I go to Verona again.

What could be improved: The only but is that some rooms are in the 3rd floor and no elevator so if you have large luggage it can be an issue,
But they were very nice and helped us with it going out. There are other rooms in the 2nd floor.

  • Francisco from United States – 14 January 2025 (10/10)

We rented 3 rooms they were very spacious clean and confortable, Luisa the host is the best, she was so attentive and fast in all que questions. She is by far the best host I have ever met.
The place is great situated if you have a car you can unload and load the luggage just in front, and then there is parking very close by. The only thing you have to be aware of is that there is not elevator so you will have to take the luggage up the stairs.

What could be improved: Nothing every thing was great

  • Claire from United Kingdom – 29 November 2024 (10/10)

The room was absolutely magnificent, spacious, with soaring high ceilings, and decorated in a stunning Italian style that made it feel truly special. From the bed, you can gaze up at the beautiful painting on the ceiling, which adds a magical touch to the experience. The hot tub in the room was romantic, and simply fantastic for a relaxing and memorable stay.

The bed was large and extremely comfortable, and we loved the quirky details throughout the room. The shower is in the bathroom, but there’s a window that opens from the main room into the shower area, creating a fun and distinctive layout.

The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the historical center. It’s just steps away from all the main attractions, picturesque streets, and incredible restaurants serving fantastic food.

The host was very friendly and easy to communicate with, making the entire experience smooth and welcoming. The property was easy to find, and the value for money was outstanding. Despite the size of the room, it was warm and the heating is good.

We absolutely loved our stay, the room was a dream—thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Our stay at Residenza Palazzo Negri was truly exceptional. The host went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Their kindness and helpfulness made us feel right at home.
The rooms were spacious, immaculately clean, and perfectly located. We were able to easily walk to all the major attractions within 10-15 minutes.
As digital nomads, reliable WiFi is essential. We were thrilled with the fast and stable internet connection, which allowed us to work seamlessly with our US clients. The overall cleanliness of the facilities was impressive. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We rented 2 rooms one for me and my wife and the second for the inlaws and their room, service and area was just a clean and nice as ours. This is the second time we are here and things are always on the up and up as well as the service has always been nice.

What could be improved: All was amazing
