Hotel Description

I remember pulling up to Suite Raggio di Sole on that winding little street – Circonvallazione Raggio di Sole, right in the heart of Verona’s historical center – and thinking, wow, this place feels like it’s been tucked away from the tourist chaos but still smack in the middle of everything. It’s not one of those massive hotels with a flashy lobby; honestly, it’s more like a cozy suite setup in an old building, you know, the kind with those creaky wooden floors that whisper stories from centuries ago. I arrived in the late afternoon last spring, just as the sun was dipping behind the Adige River, and parking was a bit of a hassle – Verona’s center is all pedestrian zones, so I ended up leaving the car at that public lot near Porta Nuova and walking the last ten minutes. But once I got there, the check-in was a breeze; the host (a local guy named Marco, I think) met me at the door with a genuine smile and a quick rundown of the neighborhood, including where to grab the best gelato on Via Mazzini without getting ripped off.

What really sold me on this spot – it’s rated a solid 9.7 for a reason – is how it balances that old-world charm with just enough modern perks to make you feel pampered without overdoing it. The suite I stayed in had these high ceilings and exposed beams that smelled faintly of aged wood and lavender from the fresh linens, and the bed? Oh man, it was like sinking into a cloud after a day of wandering. There’s a little kitchenette that’s actually useful – I whipped up espresso from the provided pods each morning, listening to the distant hum of scooters on Via Cappello (that’s the street with Juliet’s balcony, just a five-minute stroll away). It’s super quiet at night, especially off-season, though in peak summer you might hear some chatter from the bars on Piazza delle Erbe filtering in if you leave the windows open. And speaking of location, you’re literally steps from the Arena – I caught an opera there one evening, and walking back felt like stepping through a postcard. Minor gripe? The stairs up to the suite are steep, no elevator, so pack light if you’re not into lugging bags. But hey, that’s Verona for you – everything’s got that authentic, lived-in vibe.

All in all, if you’re heading to Verona and want something that feels real, not contrived, I’d say book this place without hesitation. It’s got that 4-star polish but with personal touches, like the handwritten note with tips on avoiding the crowds at the Roman Theatre across the river. I mean, sure, it’s not the cheapest, but for the memories – sipping wine on the tiny balcony as church bells ring out – it’s worth every euro. Just time your visit for shoulder season if you can; avoids the throngs and lets the magic of the city shine through.

Noemi is super helpful and kind. The suite is walking distance both to the train station and the old town. The building is well maintained, tidy with elegant flare.
The flat was super clean, with a nice design and all the facilities we needed or could have needed for our few nights stay. The windows are soundproofed, though not that it is a loud neighbourhood.
I would definitely recommend this accommodation and would come back once again in Verona. 🙂

We visited Verona for the first time and were very pleasantly surprised by the location of the apartment, close to the train and bus station, close to Arena di Verona, you don't need transport during your stay there. The owners are nice young people with whom we clarified all the details of my arrival and accommodation in advance by WhatsApp, they live nearby and are available for any additional questions. The apartment has air conditioning, a comfortable bed, a wardrobe, a kitchen with everything you need and a bathroom. Extremely clean and well maintained, even the feeling is that you are the first visitors after its launch in Booking. The welcome with a bottle of wine and mineral water in the fridge gives a pleasant feeling. Located on the second floor, facing a courtyard, quiet and peaceful area at night, there is an elevator. I am satisfied with our choice, with the hosts, and if I visit Verona again, I would stay in the same apartment again, and I would recommend it to my friends.

What could be improved: So far, at least, there's nothing we didn't like

Consigliatissimo!

What could be improved: Nulla da migliorare!
