I got there in the late afternoon last spring, just as the sun was dipping behind those old stone bridges, and honestly, the air had this fresh, almost citrusy scent from the lemon trees in nearby gardens – or maybe it was just my imagination after a long drive from Milan. Parking was a bit of a hassle, though; street spots are limited, so I ended up circling for ten minutes before snagging one a block away on Via XX Settembre. But once I buzzed in – self check-in with a code, super straightforward – it was like stepping into this cozy, moody hideaway. The building’s got that classic Veronese charm outside, with faded pink facades and wrought-iron balconies, but inside, it’s all sleek and modern, like they’ve channeled some Milanese design vibe into an apartment setup.

What really got me was how lived-in it felt, you know what I mean? My place was on the second floor – no elevator, so pack light if stairs aren’t your thing – with these high ceilings and dark wood floors that creaked just enough to make it feel authentic, not sterile. The kitchenette was a lifesaver; I whipped up pasta with fresh tomatoes from the market on Lungadige San Giorgio, which is literally a five-minute stroll away across the river. And the bed? Oh man, that memory foam mattress had me sleeping like a baby, even with the faint hum of evening traffic outside – it’s not dead silent, but way quieter than staying right in Piazza Bra during opera season in July, when everything’s a madhouse. I appreciated the little touches, like the Nespresso machine stocked with pods and those fluffy towels that actually smell clean, not like they’ve been through a hundred washes. Well, one minor gripe: the Wi-Fi dipped a couple times in the evening, probably from all the neighbors streaming Netflix, but it sorted itself out quick. Mornings were my favorite – brewing coffee while listening to church bells from Santa Maria in Organo nearby, and then wandering out to grab a cornetto at that tiny bakery on Via Emilio Salgari, which locals swear by for its almond filling.

Look, if you’re heading to Verona and want something that feels more like a local’s pied-à-terre than a cookie-cutter hotel, this is it. It’s about a 15-minute walk to Juliet’s House or the Castelvecchio, crossing Ponte Pietra with views that’ll make you stop and snap photos every time. I stayed four nights and didn’t once feel like a tourist trap – prices are fair for a 4-star spot, especially off-peak in fall when the crowds thin out and you can actually hear yourself think. Honestly, it’s got that 9.3 rating for a reason; it’s not perfect, but it’s got soul, and in a city as romantic as Verona, that’s what counts. I’d go back in a heartbeat – maybe next time with a bottle of Valpolicella from the enoteca down the street.

  If I could give this apartment more than 10 stars I would! Great location for exploring Verona in a nice quiet neighbourhood a stones throw from the bridge to the old town! Communication from the host was excellent with loads of tips and recommendations for Verona! The apartment itself is truly a home from home, we stayed in the superior apartment which had absolutely everything you could possibly need. Great powerful shower and hairdryer, really comfortable bed and lovely touches throughout. Don’t hesitate about booking this apartment for your stay!

  The accommodation was close to a bus stop, supermarket and a short walk away from the centre.
  Instructions on accessing the apartment were very clear. Super communication with the property owner.
  The apartment itself was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. It had everything we needed for our 5 night stay. I would definitely recommend this accommodation and return again.

  The location is walking distance to all the key sights and central Verona. Great restaurants nearby, highly recommend Ziga Bistro for dinner and Elk Bakery for breakfast!!

  A beautiful and super nice apartment in a perfect location, away from the tourist crowds in a very good neighborhood and yet only a few minutes from the center. Valeria's restaurant and sightseeing recommendations were all top notch and we had a great time in Verona.

  The apartment is very nice, clean, very well positioned. The apartment is also equipped with everything you need for a stay, including coffee and tea capsules from the house. The apartment is located just after the Ponte della Vittoria, a 10-minute walk from Piazza delle Erbe. Very easy self check-in with exact instructions from the host. It will remain the first option when I return to this wonderful city.
