Walking down the narrow cobblestone streets of Verona‘s historic center, you’d almost miss MyArenaVerona if you weren’t looking for it — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. Tucked away on Vicolo Volto Cittadella, this four-star boutique property feels like a well-kept secret that locals might actually want to keep to themselves. The entrance is understated but elegant, which I appreciated after dealing with some of the more touristy spots around the arena.

Location That Actually Matters

You know what’s impressive? You can literally walk to Juliet’s balcony in about three minutes, but you’re far enough from the main tourist crush that you won’t hear groups of visitors at all hours. The Arena di Verona is practically next door — I mean, you could probably hear the opera performances from your window if you wanted to skip buying tickets (though I wouldn’t recommend it). What really sold me on the location was discovering that some of Verona’s best local trattorias are hidden in the surrounding alleys, places you’d never find unless you were staying right in this neighborhood.

The Room Experience

My room was compact but thoughtfully designed — clearly someone understood that travelers want functionality without sacrificing style. The modern amenities blend surprisingly well with the historic building’s character, and the air conditioning actually works properly, which isn’t always a given in these old Italian buildings. The bathroom was spotless and well-appointed, though if you’re traveling with multiple large suitcases, you might feel a bit cramped. The soundproofing is excellent, which matters when you’re in the heart of a busy historic district.

Daily Rhythms

Mornings here have a lovely rhythm — you can grab an espresso at the corner café (the owner, Marco, makes the best cappuccino in this part of town) and be exploring the Roman amphitheater before most tour groups arrive. The staff at MyArenaVerona genuinely knows the area and can point you toward experiences that feel authentic rather than touristy. They recommended a wine bar about two blocks away that I never would have discovered on my own, and it ended up being one of my favorite evenings in Verona.

Why Guests Love It

This place works because it strikes that perfect balance between being centrally located and feeling like a peaceful retreat. Couples especially seem drawn to the intimate atmosphere — I noticed several pairs enjoying quiet conversations in the lobby area, and the whole property has this romantic, old-world feel that pairs beautifully with Verona’s reputation as the city of love. The 8.7 rating makes sense when you experience how seamlessly everything operates, from check-in to recommendations to the little touches that show someone actually cares about your stay. It’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in Verona, but it succeeds at being exactly what you need for exploring this incredible city.
